Kongoni Technical and Vocational College is a Government Sponsored Institution under the Ministry of Education. We opened in October 2019 with 62 students and 12 staff — today we offer programs from ICT and Business to Engineering, Agriculture, and Fashion Design.

Located next to Likuyani Sub-County Headquarters along the Kitale–Eldoret Road, our 5-acre campus provides a serene environment purpose-built for hands-on learning and personal development.

Our dual training system means trainees spend 50% of their time at college and 50% embedded with partner companies — gaining real-world experience before they graduate.

Our History

From idea to institution

2016

The Vision

Community and political leaders mooted the idea. Approximately 5 acres of land were purchased to serve as the college site.

Oct 2019

Doors Open

62 students enrolled in Building & Civil Engineering, ICT, and Business Studies, supported by 12 staff members.

Nov 2019

TVETA Registered

Officially registered under TVETA/ASS/7/3440K (2) as a Centre of Excellence in Building and Civil Engineering.

2020

First Block Complete

Construction of the first permanent block was completed, housing offices, lecture rooms, and practical workshops.

Leadership

A legacy carried forward

In August 2026, Kongoni TVC welcomed new leadership as part of a Ministry of Education reshuffle of TVET principals aimed at strengthening service delivery nationwide.

Principal, 2023–2026

Judith Akaranga

Ms. Akaranga led Kongoni TVC for three years, bringing over 15 years of experience in technical education leadership and an MSc in Education Administration. She was widely recognised for promoting cultural diversity at the college — notably introducing the annual Cultural Festival and the "Mr & Miss Kongoni" ceremony, which brought traditional dance, attire, and drama into college life while showcasing the institution's training programs to the wider community.

She retired in August 2026 as part of a nationwide Ministry of Education reshuffle of TVET leadership.

Stedi L. Bonface

Formerly Principal of Turbo TVC, Mr. Bonface now leads Kongoni TVC with a focus on integrity, teamwork, and continuous learning — building on the foundation laid by his predecessor.
